Yewell Consulting has undertaken capital allowances reviews on in excess of £1 billion of data centre projects ranging in value from £2 million to £300 million.

Our involvement on the most recent project, a Tier 3 data centre is as follows:

• Initial capital allowances forecasting and modelling estimates for the site feasibility studies and project budget approvals.
• Attending initial design team meetings to explore tax planning opportunities.
• Providing capital allowances contract clauses for inclusion in the tendering documentation.
• Analysing total project expenditure and producing interim and final capital allowances claims.
• Reconciling the capital allowances claim to the annual fixed assets records.
• Liaising with HMRC/VOA in respect of site inspections during the construction project.
• Undertaking all necessary negotiation with HMRC/VOA in respect of the capital allowances claim.
